Terms of Use
These terms apply when you use the KAVRO apps, the reputation service or these pages. Please read them with the Security Disclaimer.
What KAVRO is
KAVRO is a QR reader with URL reputation checking. It isn't an antivirus or a device malware scanner.
Acceptable use
Use KAVRO lawfully, and for reading QR codes you have a reason to inspect. You may check links for your own decisions, research or education.
Your responsibilities
- Decide for yourself whether to open a link, join a network or pay anyone.
- Verify payment recipients independently.
- Keep your device and software up to date.
- Follow the laws and rules that apply to you.
Prohibited activities
- Using the service to build or test attacks, or to help them avoid detection.
- Bulk or automated use of the reputation service, or bypassing its limits.
- Probing, disrupting or reverse engineering the hosted service. Good-faith security research under our Security Policy is welcome.
- Submitting addresses you have no right to share.
- Reselling the hosted service, or presenting a modified build as the official KAVRO.
Limits of security detection
No result from KAVRO is a guarantee. Threat databases and local checks can miss threats and can flag harmless sites. See the Security Disclaimer.
Third-party services
Reputation checks rely on independent services. We don't control their accuracy, availability or policies, and any of them may change or stop.
External websites and links
KAVRO doesn't own or control the sites and apps a QR code leads to. If you open one, you do so at your own decision and risk.
Intellectual property
The KAVRO apps, name, logo, branding and visual identity are the property of Omar Mashharawi. The source code isn't public. If it is released, a license such as MIT would cover the code only, not the brand. Third-party names belong to their owners.
App Store and Microsoft Store
If you got KAVRO from a store, that store's standard terms also apply. The store isn't responsible for KAVRO or its support. On the Apple App Store, the seller shown on the listing is the holder of the publishing developer account.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the extent the law allows, KAVRO is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the applicable law allows, Omar Mashharawi isn't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from a link, site, app, network or payment you chose to use. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liability that can't be limited under applicable law.
Changes to the service
We may change, suspend or end any part of KAVRO, including the reputation service. Changed terms are published here with a new date.
